Children's Garden
We have a Children's Garden, flower and vegetable gardens, and orchards. Spring preparation, weeding, composting, planting, pruning, watering, mulching, seed collecting, harvesting, delivery of produce to our Motherhouse and fall clean-up are part of what taking care of the gardens entail. The Children's Garden provides lessons, projects, and inspirational activities for children of varying ages. The physical challenges of digging, composting, planting, weeding, watering and harvesting appeal to the senses and nurture an interest in the life of the world around us. The Garden is a safe place where children can learn and relax on their own terms. Garden activities are offered from April through October by appointment. Please call 217.787.6927 and ask for Sister Suzanne, or contact her via email by visiting our Contact Us page and use the drop down box and select "Volunteering". |
